Facial hair the unique, easy way

Edge the razor blade even just a little off the mark and the blood will start rushing out endlessly. Disregard that the nick is the size of a grain of sand because it still hurts like someone slashed your cheek with a dagger.

Shaving causes anger and once in a while a lot of pain—equivalent to that of a paper cut.

The need for people in specialized fields (like a swimmer or a biker) to shave their faces and legs is understandable, but for non-triathletes, there’s nothing wrong with a little facial hair and hairy legs.

Abraham Lincoln’s beard, Rollie Finger’s mustache and Johnny Depp’s goatee are all perfect examples of the star power facial hair commands. The annoyances of shaving, the opportunity at self-expression and the wonderfully funny feeling of having something on your face all give reason to aspire to have your facial hair achieve similar stardom.

Yes, even if you keep your facial hair you have to shave every so often to trim around the edges so it does not end up looking like you have pubic hair on your face. Still, it’s not as bad as having to succumb your face to a blade every single day so the five o’ clock shadow does not turn a beautiful young lady away.

Apparently, the facial hairless look became very popular when soldiers in the First World War returned to America without beards because it offered them better protection in the trenches.

Since that’s no longer an issue, but the fact that people are always clamoring that their freedom of expression is being suppressed still brings about another positive about facial hair. With time and a bit of persistence, guys have the chance to sculpt their hair in an infinite number of ways. Location, thickness, colors, shapes and lengths can all be adjusted to give you the most unique look possible.

Once you’ve completed your masterpiece, you’ll find great joy in the ability to massage it, pet it and twist it wherever you are. You wouldn’t think so, but you always feel the hair on your face. And having the ability to stroke that nice little patch of hair growth, for whatever reason, seems to bring about an exotic happiness.

Lastly, it is true that the hairy look will make you look a lot older, but trying to deceive someone about your age should not be the reason for choosing for or against facial hair.

Most of all do not rely on other people’s comments. For every person that likes your look, their will be another that prefers you with facial hair. Let your own heart make the decision.

If in the end you decide that shaving is the better option, I’d go with an electric razor. I’ve never used one, but I’m told there’s a lot less blood.
