JV Football hopes to succeed, build chemistry

Togetherness and unity are very important aspects of any team game. Last year’s freshman football team demonstrated that working together as a team leads to success, as they showed with an impressive win-loss record. Now that same team has high expectations coming into this season at the JV level.

“We think we’re going to do very well [this season],” sophomore, and starting quarterback Nick Vasko said. “Last year we did well and have the same attitude going into this year.”

“We’re expecting to work hard and improve on our mistakes from last year and give 110 percent,” sophomore Tyler Cacha said.

Team chemistry plays a big role for the JV football team. They bond as much as possible not only during practices, but even outside of football-related activities.

“We get along, hang out as much as possible before practice and during lunch,” Cacha said. “We think of ourselves as a family.”

As a family, the team cares and looks out for each other. For them to gel well as a football team and replicate their success from last year, they have to make sure no one on the team is slacking off.

“We have to help each other improve and do our jobs,” Cacha said. “Make sure no one takes breaks and is always working hard.”

The majority of the football team has the same mind set of playing winning football. They expect another productive and growing season as long they work hard and keep their routine simple.

“We just have to work as a team, try to get pumped up before the game, Vasko said. We simply need to just play football.”
