Teen Authors: Stephenie Meyer

Stephenie Meyer has taken over the world, one teenage girl at a time.

If you haven’t heard of or read the Twilight Saga, then to be quite frank, you’ve been living under a rock.

Before the hit movies, obsessed teenage fans, and Robert Pattinson craze, there were the books.

Meyer’s claim to fame started in 2005, when “Twilight” was first published. It was one of the most talked about books of its year, securing her place as an author to watch for the years to come.

But it wasn’t Lautner’s abs or Pattinson’s killer smile that made fans fall in love with Twilight.

It all started with Meyer’s amazing talent for telling stories in excruciating detail. From the intricate imagery of the scenery to the in-depth descriptions of Edward’s marble skin, Meyer definitely paints a picture in your head.

Meyer may not be the most talented writer in terms of sentence structure or complex twists, but she has a way of engrossing readers into the story. It’s almost impossible to put her books down.

Once started, teens disappear for days, losing all connections to the outside world. The only thing that really matters is what will happen next.

Her imagination is actually impeccable, which is quite fitting, considering the entire idea for the series started with a dream she had in 2003.

Meyer is certainly one of the most notable young adult writers in the last decade. Millions of websites, fan pages and groups have formed since the release of her first book to praise her works and her colorful characters.

For many readers, her books are not just books. They’re a religion, a way of life.

Although Meyer has completed the Twilight Saga, she continues to write other books, such as her adult fiction book “Host.”
