From the moment sophomore Nia Morgan sang her first word, the audience was shocked.

The MC’s Got Talent winner sang a beautiful rendition of “At Last” by Etta James, that wowed the crowd and judges. By winning first place she won $300 and a great experience.

“The first thing I thought was wow, did they really just say my name?” Morgan said. “All I could do was smile and think wow! It was just an exhilarating feeling and I couldn’t have been happier.”

Another highlight of the show was junior Carlos Rivera’s interesting talent.

He combined a drill with an electric guitar and proved he is very talented and creative. Rivera’s unconventional performance earned him the second place title.

The winner from last year, senior Leo Ilog, showed off his many different talents which included piano playing, beat boxing, and singing while beat boxing. He won the audience’s hearts and the third place award.

Senior Andrew Kim performed a rap that Judge Bob Pacilio described as “cool, original, and very romantic.”

There were three bands that had great performances: The Deadbeat Babies, Josh Cuevas and Band, and Brynn Nelson and Band.

Senior Carly Voris sang and danced to a song by Aretha Franklin. A tap dance was performed by freshman Alex La Scala, showcasing her ability and experience.

Senior Dustin Wright wrote an original song and performed it while playing the guitar.

Another highlight was the duo of senior Lisa Schmuttermair and senior Scott Hanson. They harmonized to “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield while Hanson played the guitar.

The Free Motion Club was a group of 10 b-boys that break danced to a upbeat mix of songs.

Freshman Nikita Shrivastava performed a traditional Indian dance and freshman Emily Tando tickled the ivories and sang the classic “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton.

All of these performers showed that MC truly does have talent.
