After a long day filled with getting ready, meeting for pictures that last forever, going to dinner, and dancing for hours at Prom, you would think that most people would want to go straight home and fall asleep. However, most of the time, people aren’t ready to end the night.
While there are other illegal alternatives, a lot of people choose to have “good, clean fun” with their friends and dates. *insert sun poll results here*
“When it comes to dances like Prom, I don’t need to go get drunk to make the night complete,” senior Chris Barrett said. “My friends and I will do all kinds of stuff not centered around drugs or alcohol and still have an amazing time, fun time.”
One popular destination for post-Prom parties is the bowling alley. Both Poway Fun Bowl and Mira Mesa Lanes are relatively close to PQ.
Bowling is an ideal post-prom activity because the bowling alleys provide good entertainment in a close area with your friends. Most bowling alleys provide midnight bowling which features blacklights, live deejays, and strobe lights.
“You can have a really fun after party as long as you are with friends and there is no need to do something stupid like drink alcohol,” a junior girl said. “I know some people go midnight bowling afterwards or Denny’s is open 24 hours and I love eating and talking with friends. Even going to a friend’s house just to hang out works for me.”
Going to a friend’s house with your Prom group is a popular alternative. Because Prom ends so late at night, most places aren’t open, leaving this as the most tempting option.
You can watch movies, play games, and just talk about the night. If you are tired from dancing you can relax and hang out with friends without having to spend any more money.
When Prom is over, there are plenty of things to do while having “good, clean fun.”
“Wherever I go after Prom I know all I need is my friends, and nothing else,” the junior said.
